Art Studio in Paradise

Art Studio in Paradise is an unforgettable experience that will breathe new life and inspiration into each artist who participates.

Professor Jay Merryweather will give art direction and guidance throughout the experience,
as well as provide daily lectures on western contemporary practices in fine art and design.

The two week residency will provide an immersive outdoor experience for each artist to interpret through their own work and artisticpractice. Over the 14 days of the residency each artist will live in the beautiful mountains of Southern Utah and will have access to a studio where they will be able to draw, paint, phtotgraph, and explore their own creativity. In addition to the in-studio time, there will be half day excursion where painting and drawing kits will be provided to each artist to do plein air painting and drawings to use as reference and explore and experience the landscape. There will be 5 full day excursions to major points of interest in the area where an Outdoor Recreation and Wildlife specialist will provide guided tours. These key places of interest during the residency will be: The Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Park. Each excursion will provide the artist with a one of a kind experience to inspire and cultivate creativity, excitement and awe.

All food and lodging is included in the price of the residency; in addition all art supplies and materials will be provided. An interpreter will also be provided as part of the experience.
